Shuting Qiu, a Chinese fashion designer, started her career after being inspired by iconic fashion design group The Antwerp Six, following the collective to their native Belgium to study under their leader, Walter Van Bieredonck, at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
After graduating in 2019, Qiu launched her eponymous label - known for its use of silk and playful, colourful pieces - developing it from her showroom in China to presenting it on the runway at New York and Milan Fashion Week. Like many other emerging designers, Qiu’s work places a strong focus on sustainability - her latest project is a capsule collection for Beijing boutique Labelhood, which has utilised unused material from her a/w 2020 collection to create new pieces inspired by her signature looks.
